Rock 'chic' - biker meets beatnik in lace and leather

rockchic.jpg
The little lace dress is something of a key look for Autumn / Winter (and now, if you can get away with putting your legs on show) but it's not the easiest thing to pull off. The rock chicks who are partly responsible for its comeback (Pearl Lowe, I mean you) make it work by toning down the girly feel of the uber feminine fabric by mixing up textures in the rest of the outfit and picking items you wouldn't usually think of putting with lace. With the denim biker jacket set to make a comeback as well in the new season, juxtaposing the two seems like the perfect solution. The tough-meets-pretty look is very modern and while it might not suit the more classic among us, fashionistas are bound to want to give it a go. Add thick tights and shiny shoes and you're set. See after the cut for product details...

Grey lace dress £75 Principles, Leather belted biker jacket £100 Topshop, Ribbed thick black tights £8 Oasis, Elevated patent court shoes £40 Office.

I have to have that jacket! I really have to have it! But, at £100, I can't afford it! I'm heartbroken, because I really want it!! It's stalking me as well, I see it everywhere...

That jacket will be in my dreams for the next few months till I go and rescue it from the ashen but extremly fashionable dwellings of topshop. Apparently buying a leather jacket is a big deal and I agree. One small problem comes to mind... Its all too common for me. I'm sure hundresd of peole have already rushed to Topshop and snatched this item for themselves before me. I prefer vintage, one-of-a-kind pieces that have no risk of being owned by your next door neighbour. I'm only 13 but if I save a few weeks pocket money I will eventually have enough to afford this jacket, unless I find a nicer (vintage) alternative.
