Our first Catwalk Queen photo-shoot!

Last night the fashion team here at Shiny Towers worked in to the night on our first ever fashion shoot. The occasion was not simply a first for Catwalk Queen but also a first for myself, my first experience of styling!
The planning began weeks ago when we first decided upon the theme and the setting. The weather has been a real issue with most of our ideas as the summer has been so unpredictable. We would have loved to do the shoot outside, in the sunshine maybe even ventured to a park but we quickly realised that this wouldn't be an option. It was also decided early on that we wanted to venture quite far from Shiny Towers, possibly to somewhere more suburban.

We set a date and began calling PR's to gain clothes, jewellery and shoes for the shoot. It was pretty exciting as with many of these clothing stores you're not really sure what you're going to get until it's here. After a lot of emails and phone calls the clothes started to pile (literally) in to the office leaving Isabelle cowering behind a giant stack of boxes.
We also arranged the hair and make up for our models and spoke with a photographer about our plans and ideas. It's around this time that we became nervous about the prospect of the challenge.
Soon Wednesday, the decided day for our shoot, came around and we were pretty excited. We sifted through the clothes deciding on the most appropriate ones and planning outfits as we went along. We made a video about our plans, confirmed times with all involved bought a final few bits and pieces.
We headed to the location in the early evening and quickly began deciding on outfits, dressing models and adding accessories. We then discussed make up and began applying, the hair was already prepared. The preparation took place in a friend's flat which we slightly took over and even used as a location for certain shots.
Armed with giant golf umbrellas, torches, extra shoes, jumpers and props we headed to the first location and began shooting. All of the models were brilliant and worked hard to achieve exactly what we were aiming for. It was freezing cold and raining but they still posed happily in tiny hot pants, party dresses and skin tight trousers. They also had to deal with leery men watching us and deliberately walking past (very subtle).
There were several changes of clothes, location and make up adjustments but everything went as planned. We made behind the scene videos so you can see how glamorous (ha!) it really is. It was really successful and we all can't wait to see the finished photos.
