73558930.jpgWhile we were all rather sad to hear the news that one of our favourite designers, Stuart Vevers, was packing up his Mulberry bags and heading to Spain, we are now a little happier to hear who is set to replace him. Vogue.com has revealed that Katie Grand stylist, designer and founder of Pop magazine will take over as Mulberry's creative director from early next year.

"Over the past year I've already established a relationship with the Mulberry creative team and together we've been moving the brand into a more fashion-oriented direction," said Grand. "Now my appointment as creative director gives us further scope to develop the label's new fashion focus while building on its traditional luxury values."

Grand has a strong and varied background in the industry, she studied Fashion Design at Central St Martins before going on to launch Pop in 2000. Adding to her growing CV includes styling for shows such as Louis Vuitton, Prada and Calvin Klein. Celebrities including Madonna, Scarlet Johansson and Drew Barrymore have also benefited from her styling services.

Her first show for Mulberry will be spring/summer 2009 following Vevers reappointment to Loewe in Madrid next January.
