
Just as Cashmere Mafia plans to fill the void left by Sex And The City, so is it hoped that Gossip Girl will step in to replace The O.C. which was cancelled earlier this year. Gossip Girl is the latest teen drama to be trawled out of the US and based on the best-selling novel series by Cecily Von Ziegesar. Created by Joshua Schwartz (the man behind The O.C.), it centres around the lives of young teen socialites set in Manhattan - think Cruel Intentions only not so cruel. The angle? Their every move is documented by an anonymous blogger on a website called Gossip Girl. Suddenly, the words "guilty" and "pleasure" spring to mind.
Fashion-wise, expect high expense and of course labels. Schwartz has even referred to the characters' purchasing power as making the acquired wealth of The O.C. kids look like "chump change." Yikes!
