Skinnies might not be dead, but the wide leg jeans revolution is certainly blooming. The only question is, how do we wear them? Far from letting them be the domain of lovers of the slouchy gig-goer look, they can be spruced up rather well for fashionistas who favour the immaculately turned out look.

I've teamed these Miss Selfridge wide legs with a cami from Topshop. The top's close fit and lace trim lends feminity to the ensemble, counteracting the baggy wide legs. Tuck it in if you're proud of your tum!

Next I've chosen some Topshop close toe wedges in a burnt orange colour. A perfect, relaxed heel for daytime, the mid height lends itself perfectly to the jeans. It gives a well dressed look without creating that dreaded too-short leg flapping.

Finally, a pendant from Oli matches the shoe colour and gives some sparkle to the understated top. And it doesn't fail to add to the stylish factor. Far from looking like something you've just thrown on, baggy jeans can be the property of this year's fashion forward gals.
