Essentially our main reason for wanting to shop in Liverpool was to explore the famous designer boutique, Cricket. Adored by WAGs across the country, we have seen countless paparazzi images of girls carrying the famous zebra (and now leopard) print shopping bags, and we wanted to see what the fuss was all about. The store itself is right next to the Vivienne Westwood boutique within the Cavern Walks centre. It’s slightly smaller than we anticipated, with womenswear on the first floor and menswear on the ground. There are plenty of designer it-bags to sift through at the top of the stairs before walking through to the designer womenswear.

Cricket stocks a wide range of clothing by many top designers including Missoni, Stella McCartney, Pucci, Juicy Couture, Chloe, and Matthew Williamson (much to Gemma’s excitement). They also sell a fairly substantial range of footwear by Christian Louboutin, Roberto Cavalli, Lanvin, Chloe, Marc Jacobs and co.

Though Cricket is designer through and through, we were amazed at the reasonable pricing of the items. There is currently a large sale on and it includes a lot of instantly recognisable dresses. While Gemma swooned over Pucci minis, Laura spotted a Missoni dress reduced from £1400 to £495! We were also pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the staff. After feeling afraid, in London, to walk in to a designer store as the sales staff usually live up to their snooty expectations, this was not the case in Cricket, like Drome before it. Instead of being unaproachable they were helpful, friendly and polite and seemed to know a lot of their customers on a first name basis!
