With the U.S. Open hot at our heels, today's fashion news is dotted with tennis stars including Venus Williams who has just been signed by Steve & Barry's to... yep, you guessed it... create her own clothing line. *Yawn* I realise that these days you're not considered a celebrity until you've launched your own clothing range but it seems that Steve & Barry's are determined to recruit every celeb under the sun.
Following in the footsteps of Sarah Jessica Parker ('Bitten') and now Amanda Bynes ('Dear'), Venus has agreed to create 'EleVen', an exclusive range of sports and loungwear for the US retailer. The 120 piece range will include a variety of sneakers, velour tracksuits, fleece jackets, graphic tees, sports socks, bras and accessories. Once again, all items will be priced $20 or less with Venus expected to preview her collection during next week's U.S. Open tournament. I wonder who'll be next on S&B's list...?
To pre-empt its official launch in November, Steve & Barry's is producing 100 pairs of EleVen court shoes ($14.98) which will be available this Friday from their Manhattan Mall on a first-come, first-serve basis.
