I'm going to stop pining for summer and trying to pre-emptively apply fake tan. Instead I'm going to start lusting after autumn pieces like the Alexander Wang tweed coat (£620) from Browns. The tailoring is timeless and impeccable and the black and white herringbone is pretty versatile. If you feel like spending out on this season's 'it' colour grapey-purple then it would look great with this coat. I'd wear it with some wide-leg trousers with turn-ups and a fantastic pair of brogues. It would look equally great with a long-length pencil skirt and some ankle boots for a high-fashion look in the style of Marc Jacobs.
