Party dresses this Christmas - the best on the high street so far!

dresses.bmp
Call me crazy (well, forward-thinking, preferably) but I'm already keeping an eye out for winter and Christmas-time dresses. I definitely subscribe to the idea that if you're buying Christmas presents for everyone else, it's only right that you should be buying Christmas presents for yourself too, and for me, that usually focuses around clothes.

I've picked out the the dresses above to give you a taster of what's going to be around A/W '07/'08 on the high street. Click on the link for details.

Sadly for me, most of the high street shops aren't quite ready to say farewell to their summer dresses (perhaps due to the fact that lots haven't been sold) but a few haven't let me down.

On the left is Monsoon's 'Effie' silk beaded dress for £85. It should compliment lots of body shapes and is simple enough to dress down for less formal events or up with lots of gorgeous jewellery and some heels.

In the middle is Warehouse's 'Linear Sequin' dress. If you're of the opinion that any party dress worth its salt should always incorporate a good dose of sequins, then this is the one for you! I always think of Warehouse as basically only stocking clothes in black, grey, green and purple and so I shop there far more in winter. Available in silver as well as the dark blue pictured, it's £65.

On the right is the the chiffon prom dress by Jasmine Guinness at Oli . With a satin band to nip at in the waist and a wrap around v-neck shaped front, it's both flattering and gorgeous. Plus, at £95 it won't break the bank, but will absolutely stand out against the traditional blacks and reds of winter and Christmas.

What do you think? Do any of them tempt you?

I LOVE the blue dress, but the neckline is SO low. That is NOT going to work on my very small portion of breastage :(

I do feel your pain H. & Diamond Gal, and I can't stand it when I see Christmas merchandise coming out ridiculously early, but the fashion world is always a few steps (or a few months) ahead! Plus, slightly alarmingly, Christmas is only three full months away!

You could certainly get away with Oli's blue dress at the moment, and while the others are really A/W pieces, they could still certainly be worn before Christmas.
