There was a definite eighties feel to the Autumn/Winter catwalks this year. From the power suits to shoulder pads to block colouring. A lot of designers such as, Martin Margiela, Paul Smith, Valentino and Pucci to name a few, used a palette bright colours in their collections. Popular colours included blue, yellow and purple.
Even Victoria Beckham has been flirting with colour as she becomes L.A. Posh, she was recently spotted in an origami dress by Roland Mouret.
The best way to wear this trend is with a brightly coloured dress or statement coat over plain, light colours (as seen at Paul Smith). Valentino featured whole outfits in cobalt blue, this could be a risky trend to attempt as you may end up looking like Violet Beauregarde (from Charlie and the Chocolate factory) when she becomes a blueberry.
