Trend Report: Androgynous clothing

Androgynous clothing was a prominent theme on the Autumn/winter 2007 catwalks. The most notable item, which is a key wardrobe staple is the blazer. Worn with detailing at Balenciaga and Luella or classic styling at Sportmax and Karl Lagerfeld the blazer is the perfect item for layering on cool autumnal days.
Also, wide legged trousers were worn at MaxMara and Paul Smith where they were teamed with fitted shirts and waist coats. The whole look fits in with the increasingly popular Dandy girl trend, pioneered by the likes of Kate Moss. This season, however, the look was slightly sharper without trilbys and with fitter shirts done up to the collar.
There were skinny fit tailored trousers that were short finishing at flood length and teamed with flat patent brogues for the smart androgynous look.
