Following the British ban on under-16 models comes the news from Rome that designer Raffaella Curiel was forced to ban 15 models from her show for being too skinny. The designer says that in addition to complying with the fashion code (implemented by the Italian industry last year to discourage extreme starvation and other weight related injurious behavior), she "absolutely [does not] want models who are too skinny." Not only was she forced to tighten just about every piece of her collection to fit the abounding number of still extremely skinny girls supplied to her as models, but she believes they are "a bad example for young generations."

I have to give her props for taking action against dangerous health conditions but speaking out against it is just as important!
