Burying her sorrows in a bit of retail therapy yesterday following her defeat to Venus Williams at Wimbledon was Maria Sharapova. The tennis beauty was spotted shopping at Topshop along London's Oxford Street. But has this become a bit of tradition for the former World No.1?
It seems that Sharapova did the very same thing this time last year following her Wimbledon defeat to Amelie Mouresmo. In 2006, she told the BBC in a post-match interview that she planned to stay an extra day in London especially to hit Topshop. And hit it, she certainly did! For the second year running it appears the Russian tennis champ bought up big time carrying bags of shopping out of the store in front of waiting photographers. With a well-publicised interest in fashion, perhaps Sharapova was doing a bit of research in the hopes of launching her own clothing line one day. [Image: Getty]
