More dark fashion photography in W magazine, August '07 issue

modelslyingleaves.jpg
What is going on with fashion photography at the moment? If it's not shoots based on Britney/Lindsay's recent stints in rehab then it's advertising that depicts models engaging in drug-taking.

'Fashion Victim' is the inspiration behind this latest fashion shoot for W magazine's August issue. In the spread, model Doutzen Kroes is photographed lying almost dead-like in the woods covered in different fur coats, which leaves me wondering - is this poking fun at the controversial issue of fur in fashion or just another attempt at shock photography?

It's an editorial shoot, not advertising. Surely you can tell the difference? Also, when did Catwalk Queen turn into my mother's knitting circle?

Perhaps I wasn't clear with what I was saying, as I used a previous editorial shoot and advertising shoot as examples. Apologies for any confusion!

This is indeed an editorial shoot but it's the form of photography which is the issue being raised.

P.S. Knitting circles are cool!
