georgecoleenasda.jpgGood news for all you online shoppers out there with the announcement that Asda will launch a transactional website for their George clothing range next year. From February 2008, a 1,000 piece range of womenswear, menswear and childrenswear will be sold online to UK customers followed by further expansions.

Asda joins Marks & Spencer in taking the step into cyberspace with both chains hoping to move in before Tesco. "George is the most asked for online offer from Asda shoppers. A lot of people in the UK don't have access to the brand," said Angela Spindler, global managing director for George.

It's also good news for US shoppers with Asda also making plans to relaunch in America next year. Asda already stocks a limited range of apparel via Wal-Mart's website. [source]
