Beth Ditto for New Look "a misunderstanding"

bethdittononewlook.jpgSimilar to the rumours of a collaboration between Beth Ditto and Topshop which resulted in nothing, so it seems is the case with New Look. A spokesperson for the company has denied that any such collaboration is on the cards after The Sun reported that Ditto was in talks with New Look about creating her own range. "It’s a misunderstanding,” said the spokesperson. “We did send Beth some clothes samples as gifts, as we do many celebs, but we have had no contact with her at all. I think she may have received the clothes and misunderstood.”

I must say that as a Ditto fan, this is starting to bug me. First no Topshop range and now New Look! While launching her own line has raised a few eyebrows so far, regardless of her size, I think she has a strong sense of style which anyone would be silly not to snap up. [source]

What do you think? Do you believe Beth Ditto deserves her own clothing line?

I think it would be really interesting to see a clothing line designed by Miss Beth.

i know shes obese and i know her sense of fashion is quite shocking, but lets look at Kylie's designs produced by H&M: that "famous" bathing suit, in latex and silver.

    dont you think its shocking?

but people think its cool cause its in Kylie's body and yeah, it looks really sexy..

Now, if Beth made her own clothing line, it would be pretty much of a breakthrough, sinse we would see someone obese and who's looked down upon to have gher own design being distribuited through all those shops and see lots of obese people (obese doesnt mean being as fat as Beth) buying some different clothes from those we see in that boring shop called C&A.

so, yeah, i would support and probably buy Beth's clothes.

As it was said already, she's obese. Size 0 models are being critisized, why not people who are obese?

Besides, I don't like her style at all if she even has one, and I would definitely not buy anything designed by her. It would in fact put me off going into such shop.

She has okay style. But promoting clothing for sizes that shouldn't exist is wrong. She's not plus size, she's out of range.

  • Helen

I think she's a great singer. However i think there are plenty of big and smaller women who are more stylish and attractive

nooooo more celebrity clothing lines PLEASE!!!!! the only range id probably look at is the fern cotton range because it actually looks wearable - really unusual 4 a celeb designed line. i think celebs shud stay away frm fashion because its not like they evn sit down and design anythin themselves - they jus take other ppls credit! and i agree wth dora that normal plus sized women wouldnt want to wear spandex and outfits like she does because they arent flattering - and if she designed a range aimed at size 8s, ppl wud only moan about it. lol
