Anthropologie empire-line silk dress
I think I might have found the best all-purpose dress ever, the Peter Pan collar and puff sleeves are too cute for words and the colour makes me think of graph paper for some reason. This empire frock from Anthropologie could easily look twee and girlish in any other fabric but the matt grey silk makes it a lot more grown up.
The ominous colour would look great lifted with some pale accessories for a subdued summer look, try white wedges, a chunky perspex necklace and baby blue stud earrings. In less clement weather wear it with opaques and layer a fine jumper underneath, add patent black heels and no one will be calling you Madeline.

Hey, I just got a dress similar to this by theory at the Neiman Marcus last call sale. I didn't post a photo yet, but it was very similar to this with more pointy than rounded collars and mine came with a cute little elastic belt. Good find though...the Anthropologie version is super cute too!
