Trend Report: Androgynous clothing

androgynous.jpg
Androgynous clothing was a prominent theme on the Autumn/winter 2007 catwalks. The most notable item, which is a key wardrobe staple is the blazer. Worn with detailing at Balenciaga and Luella or classic styling at Sportmax and Karl Lagerfeld the blazer is the perfect item for layering on cool autumnal days.

Candy Says '60s chic outfit

chiccandy.jpg
I watched Breathless, the seminal Jean-Luc Godard film last night and was struck by Jean Seberg's style. I'm already a big fan of her beatnik inspired outfits of skinny cropped pants and stripy tops but I never noticed how chic and 'girl-about-town' she looked. Starting with a CandySays '60s dress the addition of a cropped trench gives a smart look. A contrasting bag and Naughty Secretary Club bracelet add interest and quirkyness to the outfit, while the pumps and earrings pick out the rust colour in the dress and trench buttons giving a bit of polish to the look. See after the jump for product links.

Trend Alert: Teal - in the style of Angie Harmon

trendteal.jpg
What are the chances of two celebrities turning up to the same party in almost the same shade of colour and fabric? That's what happened at the ABC All Star party last week when Angie Harmon and Desperate Housewives young 'un Joy Lauren rocked up wearing teal satin. Admittedly, it is a difficult colour to pull off, however in this season's trend of block colours I think both ladies work the colour well.

Want a piece of the teal action for yourself? Then keep reading...

Get Jennifer Love Hewitt's Comic-Con sporty-chic look

comiccon-jlh-getlook.jpg

Jessica Alba was at the Comic-Con International last week and we showed you how to get her cute denim look. Then over the weekend more stars were seen dropping by. Jennifer Love Hewitt looked utterly adorable; the white dress alone would have been a little too chic for a comic convention, but the black leggings, belt, and shoes added a sporty touch. Get her look with a 3.1 Phillip Lim Organza trapeze dress, a Topshop bow front belt, Topshop black leggings, and for a little bit of fashion extravagance, a pair of Christian Louboutin Gabine peep-toe slingbacks. Add gold hoop earrings and black nail polish if you wish!

Take that, Claudia: Heidi poses nude for Arena magazine and looks better

heidklumarena.jpgheidklumarena%20%281%29.jpg
I applauded Claudia for finally coming out of the woodwork with a huge entrance. After all, what gets more attention than being nude? Not garnering as big an audience as you thought you might, Claudia? That's probably because just about everyone's naked, too and some people just do it best. Check out Heidi, for example, in the new August Arena magazine.

Who wore it better: Rihanna or Haylie Duff?

haylie%20rihanna22.JPG
I wouldn't usually expect one of the Duff sisters and Rihanna to go for the same dress, and if they did, I would have expected it to be Hilary who seems to prefer more quirky choices, rather than Haylie. But, Haylie it was, working this gorgeous strapless minidress at the Maxim Hot 100 Party in May and pairing it with a gorgeous Chanel clutch. Rihanna wore the same one with Christian Louboutin heels last month to the Jay-Z and GIANT Magazine Exclusive MTV Movie Awards After Party. Who do you think wears it better?

Stella McCartney turns her skills to lingerie

73304279.jpgShe is the woman of the moment right now with her limited edition Glastonbury t-shirts and getting her Adidas range ready for her London Fashion week debut. Nevertheless, Stella McCartney is also in the midst of creating her very first lingerie collection - hurrah!

"This is a natural progression for me," McCartney told WWD. "Lingerie is an obsession of mine. I have been inspired by it for many, many years. Ever since my degree collection at Saint Martins, I have always used it in my work."

The silk, georgette and organic cotton range will launch in spring/summer 2008 under license with lingerie company Bendon, the same company who produces Elle Macpherson's 'Intimate' underwear line. However, knickers from McCartney won't come cheap with prices ranging from £35 to £220.
