Victoria Beckham is Glamour magazine's Woman of the Year

No wonder Victoria Beckham dashed back from the MTV Movie Awards in LA to London for the 2007 Glamour magazine awards – she had won the Woman of the Year award! The Glamour awards are voted by Glamour’s readers and they’re such fans of Victoria that they also voted her Entrepreneur of the year. Never one to shy away from cameras, Victoria dressed to impress in a tight black corset that was wound tightly around her size zero body. Under the corset was a pair of tiny tiny hotpants and sheer tights. Her look was complete with fingerless gloves and a cropped white blazer. Edgy, but was it too much?

Other winners on the night were, Charlotte Church for TV Personality of the Year (in a stunning dress by Anthony Price), Sienna Miller for Film actress of the year in a black babydoll dress, and Teri Hatcher for Writer of the year (erm, what did she write that was so ground breaking?).

For more pictures and a list of who won what, see after the fold.

Victoria Beckham is Glamour magazine's Woman of the Year - Comments

"Kate Moss or even Jordan would have well deserved 'entrepreneur of the year' as they have actually been innovative"

Er, WTF?! Kate Moss 'designed' a range for Topshop which was actually made up of copies of items by other designers that she's worn in the past. And took drugs (great example to set there, especially since she's a mother). That's it. And the walking car crash that is Jordan? What the hell has she done exactly? Been repulsive for yet another year? I've never read a more ridiculous comment in my life.

"For god's sake the woman doesnt have periods"

How exactly do you know this? Are you a personal friend of hers? If not then I doubt you are qualified to make such a comment. Doubtless some trashy magazine will have made this claim, but remarkably enough, that doesn't mean it's actually true. And if she 'doesn't have periods' then how is it that she's magically managed to get pregnant 3 times?

When did going to an award ceremony (even when undeserved) mean dressing like a SKANK!! Did something terrible happen to the gown she was supposed to wear so she said screw it and wore her underwear.

Seriously, it just exactly what she is. Does the UK have a term for "trailer trash"? 'Cause that is what we will be calling her here in the US very soon!

I think it's dreadful even in fashion terms - in the fashion world there are plenty more deserving women, such as models, fashion designers etc. Kate Moss or even Jordan would have well deserved 'entrepreneur of the year' as they have actually been innovative. And no i wouldnt dress like her, i think her style is terrible. And personally, i think women of her size - or women of Beth Ditto's - should be censored, given the effect they have on women's health when they are held up as admirable. For god's sake the woman doesnt have periods. That's hardly healthy.

As most of the other people who commented on this post seem unable to read, I will point this out for them - THE POLL WAS VOTED FOR BY GLAMOUR READERS. If you're going to blame someone for a 'pointless' celebrity winning the poll, point the finger at them, not her. There must be plenty of people out there who actually wanted to vote for her. And yes, I too think there are thousands of ordinary women in the UK more deserving of the award, but come on - this is a fashion/celeb magazine's awards ceremony, what do you expect? Personally I think Teri Hatcher winning Writer of the Year is far more ridiculous! And as for Victoria's outfit, she looks stunning and her body is incredible. Anyone who says otherwise is clearly saying it out of jealousy. We'd all dress like that if we looked like her.

I'm really tired of people always saying bad stuff about VB, yes she's tacky, but why is she always on cover of magazines, if the only purpose is always to say negative stuff. It's becoming the english national sport to say in how many way the woman is horrible, for me it's already turning into a rather snobbish thing to do. I really don't care about her, she as uninteresting as the sexual life of the potato, but there is lot of people out there that seem to care what she's doing, so I wish mags stoped pretending that they are very "cool" and if they use her as a selling point at least should be grateful that she exists.

I Never bought Glamour magazine in my life, but now maybe I wil,l at least I know they are not hypocrites.

    End of rant
