Ever since Kate Moss stepped out in a pair of new jeans, the fashion world has been going crazy for this 'new' style. Fitted to the knee with a flattering kick flare, the ever-so-flattering look is apparently the cut to go for. I can't help wondering why we haven't all clocked the fact these are just a reworking of the old bootcuts we were all wearing before La Moss, Sienna and co got us into skinnies and high waists.

As someone who's lived in bootcut styles throughout these changing trends, I can't help wanting to shout 'but I've been wearing these all along'. Sadly, nobody gives a monkeys what I'm wearing, it takes a style icon like Kate to bring them back to the forefront. Osoblog found a cheapo Topshop alternative, but I'm all about splashing out on designer denim (you wear jeans a lot). Here are the cult styles to go for to recreate this look. [Kate image: Getty]
