As much as I love oogling at Cameron, Fergie, and Jessica strut their stuff in sexilicious little black dresses to award shows and premieres, I can't help being jealous... I can't find very many red carpet events on my calendar so I can dress up in a sexy little black dress, too. (Woe!) Banana Republic's newest collection of LBDs, however, are fun, flirty and so versatile. They're flowy and comfortable, and thus easily dressed up or down - so I can easily (theoretically, anyway) find a use for each of these in my drab, boring, non-red-carpet life.

The black t-shirt dress (US$148) leans towards the conservative side and shows a merely a modest length of leg, and the luxurious, softly falling silk is tastefully dressed down with some soft leather flats. I'd never thought of pairing shimmering silk with leather flats before... I love it! If you'd like to go even more casual, then the cotton t-shirt dress is just for you (and significantly cheaper at US$58). My favorite (and, admittedly, the most dressy) is the silk runched trapeeze dress (which reminds me strongly of Cam's Topshop by Kate Moss wet halter LBD) which can easily be worn to any Mann's Chinese Theatre premiere but won't break the bank at US$168.
