With three of our Shiny ladies off to Glastonbury I can't stop thinking about festival fashion. As a teenager it was because of a rule that on the way home me and my muddy friends would make a list of everything we wish we'd brought with us.
As this year's Glastonbury weather is uncertain a skirt or dress and some tights are essential, that way you can layer up if it's cold, and trousers drag in the mud and get wet whereas woolly tights are toasty. Wellies are an obvious necessity, even if it doesn't rain it might be muddy and if you're wearing the aforementioned skirt or dress you'll still feel feminine.

Another tip is not to bring too much, because you wont care what you're wearing after a few beers, and if you're anything like me by the end of the festival you'll be wearing all your clothes in some kind of horrific fashion mash-up, so the fewer clothes the better. For night time you'll want to stay warm but still feel glam and spangly, so I would wear gold sparkly tights, hotpants and a cosy jumper. Hotpants are particularly good as you can play-fight, fall over and jump around without showing your bum to a BBC camera crew (hi mum!). My final tip you can ignore, but I think a bumbag (fannypack to our US readers) is really useful. Once the sun and cider have taken their toll on your brain finding your wallet/camera/phone/site map twenty times a day soon becomes a pain and you'll be mightily grateful to have a pocket with all your possessions securely strapped to your person. You can probably pick up a hippyish holter-type thing from one of the many stalls, failing that American Apparel do one for £9, you can pick one up from Etsy, or try your luck on eBay.
