Thanks to the likes of Kate Moss, Keira Knighley and Sienna Miller, Summer festivals are no longer just about the music. In a phenomenon apparently dubbed the 'Kate Moss effect', people are heading to Glastonbury, V, Wireless, the Isle of Wight festival and the like simply to see and be seen. In a survey conducted by Freeview it was revealed that a third of people bought new clothes and posh tents to take with them, while 27% of people confessed to spending about £500 on a festival weekend.

However, 18% said they saw less than five hours of live music, spending their time 'soaking up the atmosphere' instead (no doubt in bright coloured Hunter wellies and Kate for Topshop denim hotpants). I definitely saw a lot of evidence of this at the 02 Wireless Festival this weekend. Just sitting and people watching was as much fun as going to see bands...I've never seen so many skinny coloured jeans, waistcoats, wellies, heavy fringes and straw cowboy hats in my life!
