Sarah Jessica Parker launched her Bitten collection for Steve & Barry’s yesterday in a New York mall, with thousands more fashionable young women rushing out to stores to pick up a piece of Bitten. Hundreds of women queued to see Sarah Jessica who wore a Bitten striped tank, Bitten grey slim cut pants and a grey Bitten cardigan to the launch.

"We came to see Sarah Jessica Parker today because we're big Sex and the City fans and we think she has a great sense of fashion," said Lucille Barresi, 49, a fashion teacher from Livingston, New Jersey.

I am 5'10" and a size 22, and went to the Steve & Barry's at in Athens, Georgia on June 7th. It's about an hour from my house.

I was amazed that there was so little of the collection available on opening day at 10am. I heard lots of complaints about the selection from fellow shoppers. I felt sorry for the employees because it wasn't their fault!

The only bottoms I found in size 22 was one pair of dark wash bootcut jeans, which fit me very well.

The tops went to XXL, but were cut pretty small, like junior sizes, so none of them fit me. I was disappointed because they were all so cute! I look for the cute cardigan SJP wore on opening day, but no luck.

I was also disappointed to learn that the dresses only went to size 16. (That fact had been glossed over on Oprah.)

On Oprah, SJP said the shoes would be available up to size 11. I wear an 11 shoe, so I was looking forward to trying on some of the cute & affordable shoes. Alas, there were very few shoes at all to be found, and none in size 11.

As far as the quality is concerned, for those prices, I don't mind a little crooked seam if it's not in a highly visible area. These items are not going to be in my closet more than one or two seasons, or until they wear out.

In the end, all I walked away with was a great pair of bootcut jeans & several cute pairs of earrings. I will definitely return once there has been time for them to get more merchandise in.

The Bitten line advertises sizes 2-22 yet when I went to the S&B's store at Century III Mall I was only able to find a few pairs of size 22 jeans and no size 22 pants or shorts at all in the entire store. There was a very limited amount of sizes 16-20 pants and shorts, I would estimate around a dozen between all the different styles. The tops come in S-XXL, but XXL does not always fit a woman who wears a size 18-22 pant, a lot of times they are too narrow and clingy as was the case with the XXL's I tried on. There was again a gross shortage of size XXL tops, like searching for a needle in a haystack. In looking through the rest of the store and apparently they don't carry anything larger than a size 16 in the other departments. I guess there is no market for plus sizes in their opinion. With the Bitten line it is almost as if they are throwing out a few Women's sizes as a test market just to see if they sell and if so then maybe they will think about carrying more. I have been looking forward to seeing the SJP Bitten line for weeks ever since I saw her on Oprah and I cannot tell you what a disappointment it was when I finally got there to see it. Not only were there almost non-existent women's plus sizes 18-22 as I was lead to believe there would be plenty of them, but the clothing quality was very poor. The fabric was very thin and flimsy, even in the denim, and the stitching in the seams/hems was crooked. It does not take a fashion expert to see these are not well made clothes as was also promised when SJP made her Oprah appearance. I will make it my mission to tell the plus size community not to bother with S&B's Bitten. What a waste of time!

I bought a ton - the store I went to in Milwaukee was pretty picked over by Saturday! Many sizes gone. Has anyone seen the cardigan yet? They had none at our store.

I bought 2 pairs of jeans (one boot cut, one capri) - love the jeans! A knit dress, a white linen blazer, a black top, some sweats and a t-shirt, a purse and some jewerly. Cute!!

I went the 8th to check out the line and get some goodies and, also, was pleased with the offerings. While going a day late to the manhattan mall didn't have EVERY style that was a part of the line (hey some of us have jobs!), i found LOVELY stuff. Please do not mistake the line for anything fancy- but as far as basic athletic and day wear- it was great. I picked up a pair of straight fit jeans, a super soft tee, and white oxford with eyelet trim- all for 30 Dollars. There was TONS more i could have snatched up but i wanted to behave (even with low prices) I will definitely be going back to see new offerings though.
