Sarah Jessica Parker wants you to cover up

Unless you’ve been sitting under a rock for the last few days, you will know that Sarah Jessica Parker’s Bitten collection is hitting stores in a matter of weeks in America. And while she’s on the publicity trail, she’s also launched a crusade to cover up young America. "There's not going to be any inappropriate midriff showing, regardless of your age. I really don't care for it,” says Parker. "I feel like, as a culture, we have seen enough damage done by it. It's provocative in a way that I just don't feel comfortable with."

I'm sorry, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the woman whose outfits on Sex and the City often consisted of a bra and skirt? Do I detect a touch of hypocricy? You can blame it on the SATC stylist but Parker's been photographed in miniscule bandeau tops at premiers as well...

Most clothes in stores don't show midriff. It was popular in the late 90s, but not now. Some people still dress that way, but you can't stop that.

Is anyone else getting tired of SJP?

From an incredibly fuddy-duddy POV, I think we need to tackle the Bratz generation's use of excessive make-up, low-cut tops and low-slung jeans before picking on them for showing a little stomach.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: A button up wrap-dress does not a respectful tweenager make.

It does seem hypocritical of her, not to mention sour 'ol matron sucking lemons and denouncing youth as "not like they were in MY day".

Now that we're emancipated, why on earth go back to covering up? cover up, bare all.. it's up to the individual. However, I do wish those who don't have it wouldn't flaunt it, quite the eyesore.
