Miss Selfridge's patchwork pieces

patchworkmissselffridge.jpg

Here I thought the days of seeing patchwork pieces had gone the way of the whole hippie trend circa 2003. Well I was wrong, after all if Miss Selfridge is stocking it, it must be semi ok right? I really don’t know what to think about these four patchwork pieces, sure it’s cute, but is it too Little House on the Prairie? Just add the bonnet and you can pop off to milk the cows in the morning. If you do plan to try these pieces, match the top with dark denim, and the skirts with a simple white ruffle-front shirt, and if you dare, try channeling Peaches Geldof and tie a piece of plaited rope across your forehead in true hippie style.

Hi,

Can you recommend any good heels and bags that go with this particular look?

Thanks.

Don't do it if you are over 20 is my advice -

I think the top is cute and less too-prairie than the others.

These are like the dresses people wore when I was a little kid. Hmmm... shouldn't that mean I ought to hate them, the theory being that if you experienced it first time round, you won't want to do it again?

No, wait. They used to be made entirely out of polyester double-knit when I was a kid. If these are made out of anything that doesn't melt in hot sunshine, I am all for 'em.
