We promised a closer look at the stuff we bought, so here goes! The image to your left is clickable for a much larger version, and there are more close-ups after the jump and a video to come. CQ's star shopper Kim is modelling the floral dress that had so much press pre-launch, along with the skinny red jeans, another big seller.
We weren't sure about the floral dress at first, as it looks a bit cheap and shapeless on the hanger and we thought the print was a little Primark-esque considering the £45 price tag. That said, since we've all had a chance to try it on we've fallen for it. It's perhaps not the most original garment in the range, but it's one of the most wearable even if you don't have Kate's figure. It's 100% cotton with elasticated detail on the sleeves, shoulders and under the bust, and looks great with black opaque tights for the full Kate effect...

Surprisingly, though we expected this to be one of the more generous pieces from the range, this dress comes up quite small. Both our size 10 girls fit into the 12 without any sagging fabric, and though they probably could have got away with a 10, there wouldn't have been much room for movement. Bear this in mind if you're planning on buying it online.

Here's a front and back view of Kim wearing the skinny red jeans (£50), which she's fallen completely in love with. They have small embroidered details (swallows and stars) on the waist and ankle, as well as the bird charm you can see dangling from the belt loop. The jeans are surprisingly generous in length and true to size in terms of waist measurement, with a bit of stretch for give. Kim is 5'10 and as you can see, they're not too short on her, so this might be worth remembering if you're petite.
