Is Laura Ashley cool again?

I never thought I'd catch myself saying this, but I've just fallen in love with a new range of clothing from (whisper it) Laura Ashley; once home of curtains, granny fabrics and mumsy dresses. OK, so it's actually an old range from Laura Ashley I'm talking about, as the flowery store that was briefly hip in the 80s has come back into view with its limited edition Archive range, based on classic designs that date back to the store's early days in the 60s.

Original styles and prints
have been revitalised for the collection, all of which is made in 100% organic cotton, in prints that reference nature. These include a new lease of life for the brand's first ever print design, the 'humble daisy'. All the summer's trends are well catered-for, with beautifully decorated maxi-dresses in yellow and white 'sweet rocket' print, floral sprigs smock tops and quilted patchwork bags. The range is available online and in selected stores now. [Via Hippyshopper]

I personally think CQ is better than ever at the moment...and I love how the amount of daily posts has increased. Whilst I'm not a fan of Kate Moss, I thought last week's reporting was fantastic, especially the reports from the girls who went and queued up. And the in-depth stuff on the clothes the next day was fab! Saved me a trip to Topshop anyway! Are you planning to do this again with any other stores?

if people don't state their opinions how would they ever know how they were doing? do you think the writers would prefer to not know?

I visit Catwalk Queen daily and I wouldnt keep coming back if I didnt like it. Im glad there is a blog about [mostly] UK highstreet fashion written by enthusiastic and professional female writers.

As a Kate Moss fan I was happy to see all the coverage over her Topshop collection. There are few blog or magazine writers that would queue up like they did and update us with all the goss on the spot. I understand it could have been too much for people that dislike her but you could have stopped reading for a day or 2 until everything had moved on.

Of course there are features that I dislike or have little interest in but blogs cant be tailored to each of our own personal tastes. The fact is, this is a free to view blog which is updated frequently. If you don’t like it, don’t read it. I certainly wouldn’t keep buying a magazine that I didn’t like. It just seems strange people keep coming back to a blog they don’t really like and then moan about it.

Maybe the editors could organise some sort of comments, questions and suggestions area so that readers might inform you of what we want more or less of?

I haven't noticed any change in the quality of the reporting. It's just as good as it ever was.

Well, I like Catwalk Queen's writing. How can someone not expect Kate Moss' clothing line launch to not be covered?! This is fashion news, people. This blog wouldn't be worth their salt if they didn't cover such important things. And for this article, it seemed like a continuation to last one; the articles are not identical. I read several different blogs and I always read this one daily if nothing else. It's not the New York Times, but the writing is good and the visuals are nice. Plus, I have something to talk about with my sister when she calls from London =) So, Gemma, keep it up!
