Designers celebrate anniversaries in style
Gone are days when celebrating anniversaries meant a good old-fashioned booze-up, these days it's serious business. Last week Emilio Pucci celebrated his 60th anniversary by throwing a two day party, inviting 250 guests and launching a new signature fragrance. According to sources, the event took six months to plan! Then it was Ralph Lauren's turn. He celebrated his 40th anniversary by opening two huge flagship stores in Moscow and hosting a Great Gatsby themed dinner at the Ambassador's reception. No expense was spared. Finally, we hear that John Galliano is planning to outdo everyone by holding a one-off couture show to help celebrate Dior's 60th anniversary. The show is to be held inside the Versailles Orangerie, the setting for Sophia Coppola's Marie Antoinette. In addition, Galliano will be returning to London to host a champagne reception at the V&A in association with British Vogue during September's London Fashion Week. He will be there in support of the V&A's The Golden Age of Couture exhibition. Talk about partying in style!
