Australian designer Alex Perry loves drama and his front row guests. Sure he loves his fashion editors, but there is nothing he seems to like more than to be seen courting Sydney’s collection of bottle blonde TV celebs with lots of money to spend. And it usually pays off for him, because they all gush about how much they love the show. As for the clothes themselves, Alex says his inspiration for his spring summer 2008 collection at Australian Fashion Week was Hawaii. "It's the Hawaiian princess,'' he said.”It's where a Perry girl goes for her holidays.” Well I must not be a Perry girl; I can’t afford to go to Hawaii just yet...

As for the clothes, watch the YouTube clip and come to your own opinion. I find with Alex that it's definitely a love / hate thing. I think the best thing about the Alex Perry show was that Miranda Kerr was modelling. Oh and the mini's were very mini… you could almost see the model’s… well you know. "Short stuff is naughty," Perry said.

I wonder if anyone will actually wear the longer gowns? It’s not like we all go walking down a red carpet every weekend you know! I loved the movement and the sequins, but anyone bigger than a size tiny would have trouble pulling them off. There was one dress (that’s not shown in the clip) that looks VERY much like that Burberry Prorsum sequined dress worn by everyone from Dita von Teese and Naomi Watts to Anne Hathaway.
