Australian Fashion Week SS08 - Zimmermann
“Hard Luck L.A” was the theme Nicky Zimmermann had chosen for Zimmermann’s Spring Summer 2008 collection show at Australian Fashion Week. It was definitely a collection meant for a (Sydney) urban inner city girl. One who hangs out in Bondi – breakfast at Icebergs, then it's off to the beach or off for a spot of shopping at Bondi Junction. Then it’s on to Hugos Lounge for their sort-after pizzas and cocktails.
While the collection wasn't ground breaking for this hip brand, but they channeled collections past to bring the focus back on to their swimwear and breezy summer print dresses with 70s style vintage shapes and prints. My favourite bit was the black buckle heels paired with white socks. Now no one would dare wear that in summer (because it’s just too hot to wear socks), but you must admit it looked hot.
