The news is in - everyone's favourite French actress (or at least mine after she starred in Amelie) Audrey Tautou is to play Coco Chanel in a new biopic on the legendary designer. Variety reports that the actress was the only choice for the $15 million film which will focus on the life of Chanel before that suit and perfume. There are a few Chanel projects floating around at the moment but there's no denying the fact that this one has the edge with it's cute well-known lead actress. However as much as Tautou may resemble her protagonist, is she too sugary sweet to portray a woman who spent her teenage years in an orphanage and is known for having many illicit affairs? Only time will tell.
