Yay Or Nay Wednesday

Happy Hump Day! Last week's Victorian line from Jessica McClintock had mixed reviews. While we had some brave enthusiasts, the "Nay"s outnumbered the "Yay"s. This week's "Yay or Nay" comes courtesy of JCrew.

"Chinos in short...and wellies in season" is the new look that JCrew is promoting, and it's a bit of a conundrum, really. This is a US company, and for the most part (or at least in California) I never really saw people sporting wellies. However, in the UK, they're everywhere, and for the most part used for function over fashion. I really don't know how the heck I feel about this little ensemble. Shorts and wellies? I have no ideas, as I'm still confused about leggings...

Post a comment and let us know if you think "Yay or Nay" and why!

not a fan of this... they look ok on the model at best, but i think they'd look horrific in person.

and why all the stress about america and it's geography? i'm on my year abroad at the moment and not a single american here knows anything about the uk... i was even asked by a few if wales and scotland were their own separate countries... so to get pissy when we don't know the exact temperature and weather condition in each state at particular times of the year is a bit much don't you think?

YAY! Love it. Nothing I would wear to work but when taking a walk in spring etc. it' s a good alternative to sandals (at least your feet won't freeze).

There's still girls at school (in California!) wearing 5 years ago Uggs with miniskirts. So why not? At least these wellies are cuter than Uggs (plus it does rain here, more than it gets cold, so I really don't get why we're not wearing more wellies). Yay.

Between this and A&F, I think people in the UK get a bad idea about American fashion. Anyway, this, too, reminds me of the mini skirt-uggs combination that I'm still seeing, so I'd have to give this a nay. That said, J.Crew is a nice store, and these pieces seperately are probably great.
