New York Fashion Now at V&A

v%26a.jpgA few weeks ago we reported that V&A would be launching an exhibition about New York fashion and it launched last night with a cocktail reception. New York Fashion Now explores the stories of 20 designers who launched their own labels in the five years between 1999 and 2004.
American designer Zac Posen was at the launch and expressed his love for old Blighty. He trained at Central St Martins and explains, "there's something about England I love - I spent the weekend with the de Villeneuve's in Kent sitting in their garden. Horticulture here beats America hands down - and the Sunday lunches too - I love that you sit down at one and don't leave the table until eight in the evening."

I imagine we'd all feel a bit more positive about England if we'd spent a weekend with de Villeneuves too... Betty Jackson and David Furnish were also at the launch of the exhibition which includes pieces by Derek Lam and Duckie Brown.

The exhibition is on now until 23rd September and is completely free! Go to the V&A website for more info.
