Laura Ashley launches Archive Collection

It's been the butt of many a frumpy fashion joke in its time, but Laura Ashley has been working hard at becoming "cool" lately, and here's the result. It's the Archive Collection - a selection of dresses, skirts, tops and accessories that they've created by dipping into their very own fashion archive, using styles, prints and fabrics from the 60s and 70s to recreate those looks for 2007.

I probably wouldn't want to walk around in a t-shirt with "Laura Ashley" plastered on the front (although I can't help but wonder how many people would address me as "Laura" if I did), but I have to admit to being pleasantly surprised by some of the other retro-inspired pieces. Steering well clear of the curtains, though...
