Galliano and Dior Mourn Steven Robinson's Death

diorlogo2.jpgSad news from the world of designer fashion today with the announcement that Steven Robinson, John Galliano's right-hand man, passed away last Wednesday at just 38. Robinson was found dead in his apartment in Paris last week where it is thought he had suffered a fatal heart attack. "It is with deepest sadness that we have to announce that Steven Robinson, beloved Head of Christian Dior and Galliano studios has suddenly passed away at the age of 38," read a statement issued by Dior.

The English-born creative director of Dior helped to transform Galliano's creations into a commercial success. A popular figure around the Paris fashion scene, Robinson had been working on the latest Dior cruise collection just prior to his death. His funeral is expected to take place after Easter to allow his many colleagues and friends the opportunity to return from their holidays. Following several recent dramas at Dior some could say it is not a pleasant time for the label right now. [source]
