What's happening in the world of fashion design lately? First Marc Jacobs readmits himself to rehab, then Anand Jon Alexander (from America's Next Top Model fame) is charged with sexual assault and now former Dior Japan vice president is arrested for drug smuggling. I tell ya, it's a worry. Frenchman Guillaume Monnier was held by police officers for attempting to smuggle cocaine and possessing cannabis. Monnier is accused of sending 8.8 grams of cocaine from France to his home in Japan. Its discovery by police prompted a house raid where police found four grams of cannabis in a refrigerator. Officers admitted there is a likely chance that Monnier will be jailed as he is accused of both smuggling and possession. Representatives for Dior confirmed that Monnier is no longer an employee of the company and didn't wish to comment further. I don't blame them!
UPDATE: Anand Jon Alexander has reportedly been released from immigration court in the US. He was freed after his lawyer successfully argued that he was being improperly detained. [source].
