Emma Cook maternity wear coming soon to Topshop

emmacook.jpgCamilla, the wonderful editor of our wedding blog Bridalwave, asked me today where she could find maternity clothes that didn't make her look like a tomato. I admit when it comes to baby-incubating fashion, I'm not really an expert however I think I have found a solution to her dilemma. Emma Cook, one of Britain's top designers has signed on to launch her own maternity range for Topshop. Since her recent pregnancy announcement, Cook decided to collaborate again with the high-street chain (she has previously created several capsule collections for Topshop) by producing a range mummy-to-be clothes including printed tunics and dresses. Her new range is due in stores next week... stay tuned!

Ooer.. If you were in Canada, I could direct you to some pretty hip maternity stores.

Failing that, wear a tunic tube top with a ruched/stretchy band for your chest, and a flared, but not overly flared section to cover the bump, worn over pants...

Or a wrap dress a couple of sizes larger!

When I was pregnant, maternity wear was nowhere to be found except in expensive catalogues! However I dragged myself down to London and bought 2 pairs of Topshop's maternity jeans (which had only just come out!) which were the best investment ever! They were the only maternity clothes I bought - I just managed to get away with tops a few sizes bigger and as Fabulously Broke said, a couple of wrap dresses a few sizes bigger. Of course now everyone does it - Warehouse, H&M and Topshop are your best high street bet though. Oh and Elle MacPherson's maternity and nursing bras are the best too - pretty and comfortable!
