Don't copy Kate Moss' designer inspired collection

Kate Moss was reportedly paid £3m for her Topshop collection, and to protect his investment, Sir Philip Green has issued a warning to other retailers about ripping off Moss's Topshop collection. "Everything's copyrighted and I will sue," Green has said. "We've made a big investment and we don't want it undermined."

Hang on a second... a few of the Kate Moss for Topshop pieces look like some designer pieces Kate’s been spotted wearing on various occasions. "You can almost see the paparazzi images in your head," says the fashion director for Harper's Bazaar. According to The Daily Mail, there are more than a few pieces that have been ‘inspired by’ Kates clothes."It's self-referential," says the marketing editor at Business Week. "Who is she other than all those pictures from before? Do we really expect her clothing to be what's in Kate Moss's brain? No. We expect it to be stuff she's worn before."

Check out The Daily Mail website for some more comparisons of Kate’s designer wear, and Kate’s Topshop collection.

P.S. If you're planning on popping down to your local Topshop to pick up armfuls of the Kate Moss collection, think again. Topshop will be limited to five items each to prevent the clothes appearing on eBay, Topshop said.

With prices range from £12 for a vest top to £150 for a cropped leather jacket it is a smart plan, but selling things on eBay may go pear shaped. The Stella McCartney for Target Australia collection stopping selling at high prices on eBay just a week after the collection went on sale, and Target are still receiving returns for many of the pieces.
