A Peek Inside Primark's New Oxford Street Store

Just hours to go until the opening of Primark's new London store in Oxford Street and we thought we'd tease you a little longer with this sneak peek inside. As you can see the store is going to be fairly huge - 70,000 square feet to be exact! The new flagship store replaces the old Allders store that used to take pride of place along Oxford Street. Other retailers closeby welcome the new store's arrival. “We’ll all benefit from the increased footfall,” said Paul Merchant, New Look's managing director for merchandising. “With New Look, H&M, River Island and Next, we’ll have a decent chunk of the street. Traditionally, shoppers tend to shop at Selfridges or Marks & Spencer, but we’re giving consumers a reason to extend their trip. I can only see good things from Primark’s opening,” he added.

Other new schemes that Primark plans to unveil is the introduction of a new ethical retail policy. Last month it was one of several retailers to pledge a reduction on the use of plastic bags by 25 per cent by 2008. The store will also launch its new range of organic cotton clothing including a collection of tops for £4 (above).
Of course Catwalk Queen will be front and centre tomorrow morning ready for the big launch. So if you happen to see us then make sure you come over and say a big hello... or g'day just to make me feel more at home :-)
See you there!
