Perspex fashion: love it or loathe it?

Perspex. Fashion's new darling or strip club fodder? Either way, from heels on a shoe to Chanel handbags, it's impossible to take a step without tripping over the transparent stuff. I must admit a few years back I scrutinised my cousin's perspex and red patent shoes (they still give me nightmares) but it seems I should have applauded her fashion forwardness.
