With New York being the center of fashion – for this week anyway as you may have noticed with all of CQ’s New York Fashion Week coverage, I thought I’d have a peek at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s online shop. They have their usual array of books and art memorabilia, but they also have jewellery. Pretty sparkly jewels and all kinds of expensive things.
Keeping in the theme of fashion week, my lust have from their online shop is their Glittering Shoes Charm Bracelet. The gorgeous shoe charms features miniaturized versions of original shoes in the Museum’s Costume Institute, including a sequin and rhinestone shoe by Roger Vivier in 1956; a yellow-green taffeta and white satin shoe by Vivier; gold kid platform sandals from the 1940s; an English black and gold pump dating to the early twentieth century; and a delicate evening sandal in bright pink silk with a butterfly resting over the open-toe, made by Vivier in 1958.
Ah it’s so beautiful. Almost better than getting the shoes themselves. Wait, did I just say that? I take it back. Actually can I take the shoes and the charm bracelet? Check out the Met Museum store for more gorgeous charms.
