New York Fashion Week: Badgley Mischka
Bang on time for this year's Oscars, Badgley Mischka's Autumn/Winter collection was a feast for the eyes when it came to red carpet frocks. Take for starters, this silver floor sweeper with front and back detail including jewel and embroidery which would stunning on someone like Kate Winslet, who wore Badgley Mischka to last year's Oscars.
But it wasn't all about the frocks. Also featuring in his collection were a mixed selection of tweed suits, long shorts, over-sized trousers and... wait for it... jeans? Yes, jeans. Straight and tight, they were matched with a wool jacket and over-sized bag. Now what I'd pay to see that sashay down the Oscars celebrity runway.

Still toying with the idea of high-waisted trousers (we've seen a few of these in the last week) Badgley Mischka incorporated a wide leg design into this year's collection. There was still a repeat feeling of grey and gunmetal colours from the previous season as well as more tweed and '60s style mini dresses. My particular fave was this '60s glen-plaid dress with balloon sleeves worn over a turtleneck sweater (above, second from the right). On the other hand, the white coat with fur trim (above, second from the left) and ridiculous matching... I suppose you could call them... fur leg warmers?... Were so out of place and crazy-looking one could only ask, why?
