New York Fashion Week: Oscar De La Renta
For someone who has been dressing women since before I was born, Oscar De La Renta certainly hasn't lost his touch when it comes to what women want to wear. Instead, he moves with the times and reminds us of what it is to dress like a woman... and a lady. His Autumn/Winter collection for New York Fashion Week didn't just focus on one style or item, it included a range of different pieces and fabrics, more applicable to the modern woman's wardrobe. After all, how many of us can live in just mini dresses year round? Not me, unfortunately.
His collection included trousers (both straight and wide leg), long and short coats, bell skirts, 1950s dresses, long gowns (he's an Oscar favourite), belted waists, fur wraps and a few prints - keep your eyes out for the purple number with the fur trim, it's a beauty!
As he says in the video interview, he still enjoys "exciting the imagination of a woman, fitting into her lifestyle by challenging her to like what his doing." And boy, do we like what he's doing... still...
