John Lewis are using a size 12 model for their Spring/Summer 07 range. South African model Lauren Moller was recruited through a plus size model agency much to the surprise of Mark Forsyth from John Lewis:
"We were astonished, size 12 isn't big. It's still
quite slim." John Lewis are also changing all their in-store mannequins to size 10 (what size were they before?!) in an attempt to be more "honest" with their customers. The department
store carried out a customer survey and found that 80 per cent of its
swimwear was bought by women who
were size 12 and larger. As you can see from the picture Moller isn't fat by any stretch of the imagination but she does look bigger than the average model, and a lot healthier.
