H&M to launch organic cotton range

Hmorganiccollection
It seems as though eco-fashion is the flavour of moment right now and we couldn't be more delighted. What's good for the environment is good for us, so it's big applause for H&M and their decision to release a collection that features organically grown cotton. What does this mean? You might wonder. Well, organic cotton is cotton grown without the use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers which are harmful to our ozone. "[The clothes] combine a conscious choice of materials with the latest design, allowing you to look as good on the outside as you feel on the inside," says H&M's head of design, Margareta van den Bosch.

The women's range has a great variety of A-line dresses, tunics, and jersey tops. Colours are created using vegetable-dye in wonderful-sounding names like aubergine, lime and grey malange. Prices start at around £15 for a printed tee and all items carry a special tag so they are easily recognised as having been made from organic cotton. Now there's no excuse not to help the environment while looking fashionable at the same time.

The H&M Organic Cotton Collection is available from March.
