Women Muscle in on Versace Menswear Parade
At the Autumn/Winter 2007-2008 Menswear shows in Milan, women tried to steal the spotlight from the guys by appearing in the Versace show. Black took centre stage together with moments dotted with silver, red and turquoise. Included in Donatella's collection, a homage to her brother, were 60s mini dresses and a small selection of show stopping frocks.
For the men, the collection began with a series of day wear options before showcasing the night time designs including tuxedos with two-toned bow ties.
Plans to honour Gianni Versace posthumously and Donatella along Rodeo Drive Walk of Style will take place later this month. It will mark ten years since the late designer's death. "Austerity, but elegant, I wanted it to be rigorous," Donatella told reporters following the show.
