The theatrical spectacular that is Haute Couture Paris Spring/Summer 2007 has begun and we can't wait! This is the holy grail of fashion events where the world's most amazing (and expensive) dresses are showcased. First up yesterday was the Elie Saab show and once again it was a glam display of show-stopping frocks ranging from high-waisted skirts to full length floor-sweepers... ooh la la! The Elie Saab show pointed out many things. First of all, bows aren't going anywhere. Tied to the side or stuck in the middle, bows featured heavily throughout the collection. Also worth noting were sparkly fabrics, pleats, lots of lace, layers and one-shoulder necklines. Had I been invited I could have easily drooled all over the catwalk at the array of Hollywood-esque gowns. Although not for every body shape, I especially adored the 70s style glittery chiffon draped over shoulders and arms. Expect to see at least one or more of these gowns tottering along the Oscars red-carpet in a few weeks.
