Anyone got a spare billion pounds or so, and fancy owning a clothing chain? Well, now could be your chance. After two years of slow sales, Gap are rumoured to be considering selling up. The chain has appointed Goldman Sachs to look at their financial position, with a spokesman for the investment bank saying: "Beyond a buyout Gap could break the company up or attempt to rationalize units through a sale or public offering."
Now, I'll find it pretty hard to get by without my Long and Lean jeans, which are one of the few brands that actually fit me, so I'm relying here on someone snapping up Gap. Anyone?
