Flapper girl: a House of Elliot inspired outfit

ElliotThe BBC drama 'The House of Elliot' was one of the reasons I decided I wanted to work in fashion. Granted, it was a show about a 1920s fashion house - hardly the same as blogging about clothes for a living - but all that talk of expensive silks and chic chiffons had me hooked on the industry. It's hard to believe the show aired fifteen years ago (I shouldn't remember 15 years ago...) as my memories of it are so vivid. The lead character Beatrice and Evie dressed in gorgeous beaded flapper dresses, cloche hats and beautiful shoes. How could I not make up my own modern outfit based on their look...?

  • Beautiful outfit! :D

No, no, no, he may leave me!! He doesn't know about the snakeskin peep toes I ordered this afternoon!

  • If it helps FiFi, the shoes are only £15 in red and gold or £20 in blue and bronze. I just ordered the red. And maybe I also ordered some purple suede numbers...I have no willpower.

And yes, the dress is only available in the US, thank god. We all fell in love with it in the office!

Ok, just stop right now. I've had enough! Stop tempting me. My boyfriend may dump me if I buy any more clothes or shoes.

I've been eyeing up those shoes since before Christmas and resisting and now you pair them with that dress, which I'm hoping is only available in the US, as it may cause me to dip into the joint account!

  • Great outfit - love that dress!
